![]() ![]() Not really what I was after and not what I was told. The 50,000 VND calls were used up and the remaining 110,000 VND ‘bonus call credits’ could only be used for local or national calls within Vietnam. I was told all call credits could be used for international calls and sms. The cost was broken down to 40,000 VND for the sim card + 50,000 VND for calls plus another 110,000 VND for bonus calls. I asked for the MobiFone sim card for 100,000 VND with 150,000 VND of calls but was told it was not available and was instead talked into a MobiFone 'Super sim' for 200,000 VND. I saw a small shop selling sim cards etc on my walk back from Coop Mart around the intersection of Cong Quynh and Pham Ngu Lao Streets. They were offering the same deal (pay 100,000 VND and get 150,000 VND calls) but I was in a bit of a rush to get to my hotel and wanted it set up in English so I decided to get one the next day. On my trip in March 2009 I passed the opportunity to buy a MobiFone sim card from one of the money changers at the airport. On my last trip (October 2008) I bought a MobiFone sim card for 100,000 VND and it included 150,000 VND call credits which was great for calls back home to Australia. ![]() ![]() Just a word of caution when buying sim cards in HCMC (or elsewhere I guess) ![]()
